Lucketts Travel, part of National Express Transport Solutions (NETS), are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager, based in Fareham, who will ensure the effective, safe, compliant and commercially viable management of the operation, together with providing back-up and support for the satellite depots as and when required to ensure co-ordination and operational consistency across the Group.

Role Purpose:

  • Ensure the efficient and effective running of all Operations.
  • Ensure the operations maintain compliance with the NX Global Policies and Standards.
  • Manage the driver portal effectively to ensure that driver risk is mitigated to an acceptable level.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with all NETS Operations Managers and also with the wider NETS team.
  • Work closely with the NETS Sales and Marketing Team to ensure that revenue is maximised and the right quality of work is taken on.
  • Organise, lead and motivate the Operations team (Office, Engineering and Drivers) to maximise overall performance.
  • Ensure that the maintenance and up-keep of the yard and the associated facilities are maintained to the required standard.
  • Control spending against operational budgets to ensure that all financial targets are met.
  • Develop clear standard operational procedures, ensure that the required staff training is given and that the procedures are reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction, investigating any issues or problems immediately and reporting solutions and outcomes back to line management


What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent working knowledge of all daily site procedures, health and safety regulations, employment legislation, and people management practices
  • Thorough appreciation of the needs of external customers and internal customers, coupled with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans.
  • Understanding of the road passenger transport sector, including relevant legal and external regulations and requirements for the operation of passenger carrying vehicles.
  • Ability to devise, implement, manage and review effective processes to ensure consistency and best practices
  • Experienced in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards of performance in a unionised environment
  • Flexible approach to working hours – able to attend out-of-hours external meetings and respond quickly to any “on-call” requirements.
