The varied role of a technician within National Express Service Support means that as well as completing traditional mechanic based activities, you'll also be able to apply your expertise in a whole host of different areas on our vehicles...not just engines.

Join our team Service Support Department today as a member of our diagnostics team, we have fantastic opportunity for PCV or HGV fitters/technicians/mechanics available on a 38 hour working week.

As a successful candidate, you will have experience as a PCV or HGV fitter/technician/mechanic and be able to evidence a NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Must be computer literate and hold a full UK driving licence .Every day will be different and challenging.

You will be technically minded with a ‘can do attitude’ to having diagnose some of the most difficult jobs you may have never done before. You will travel around the West Midlands and Coventry, so a full driving licence is essential.

 

What you'll do...

  • Assist in diagnosing faults which garages are finding difficult to analyse.
  • Diagnose defects and effect repairs to engine, gearbox, ad-blue, axles, steering, brakes and ECU’s with up to date diagnostic equipment such as Jaltest, Insite, VCADS Techtool, Scania SDP3 and NEO Green.
  • Verify major unit and other components condition and recommend actions.
  • Repair vehicles to Company and Statutory standards inline with manufacturer standards.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, ability to read wiring diagrams, diagnose faults etc
  • Maintain documentation as per documented quality procedures.
