This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with significant experience in external communications & stakeholder management to join one of the newest brands within the National Express Group.

This role will work alongside the leadership team to support an ambitious business growth strategy with first-class communications and stakeholder management.

Areas of responsibility will include:


  • To develop and lead the implementation of a creative, ambitious, and scalable external communications strategy (incorporating media relations and stakeholder management) for NETS.

  • To support the NETS MD and senior management team to manage and build stakeholder relationships in the relevant community, economic and local government landscapes. 

  • Working closely with NETS colleagues to support campaigns and ensure PR opportunities are maximised.

  • Responding to the news and stakeholder agendas, handling media enquiries and advising on media issues and opportunities.

  • Working as an integral member of the National Express UK Communications incident and crisis management team as part of an on-call rota. As and when required, to provide policy and procedural advice as well as on-the-ground resource during any crisis situations

  • To manage activity that provides opportunity for recognition through awards or accreditation for all National Express UK businesses, including taking the lead role in drafting and submitting award entries in collaboration with the subject matter owners and experts.


As the successful candidate, you will have significant B2B experience in a similar role, managing external communications for a medium to large organisation. You will be well versed in building strong relations with stakeholders across the media, in local government and with other influential groups. This is a job for a self-starter; someone who is organised, has initiative to seize opportunities and is responsive in the face of change.
