We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor, on a fixed term contract until April/May 2021, to provide professional HR expertise, advice and guidance within the Bus and Coach Business units. Working across a diverse stakeholder group, strong organisation and communication skills are a pre-requisite.

As the successful candidate, you will have a strong track record of providing a proactive HR service on a wide range of employee-related matters within a comparable sector. You will demonstrate the confidence and ability to gather, interpret and analyse information within a fast paced environment where no two days are the same. Your innovative approach will contribute to the achievement of overall business goals that embraces best practice and continuous improvement.

You will be qualified to a graduate level of CIPD or equivalent and have experience of working within an organisation that recognises Trade Unions, where your strong employment law knowledge will be put into practice.

Flexibility and willingness to travel across the UK will be required as part of this role.
 

What you'll do...

  • Participate and support managers on full case management from beginning to end on a range of HR matters including disciplinary, grievances, absence management, flexible working, reorganisation and capability/performance management.
  • Adopt a coaching and mentoring approach to develop managers’ confidence and competence to manage HR cases and make good people decisions.
  • Produce and interpret management information in respect of staff turnover, sickness absence and exit interviews.
  • Liaise with the appropriate HR Coordinators and HR Business Partners to ensure that all relevant correspondence is produced in line with timescales.
  • Advise and aid managers with all aspects of the company sickness absence policy, organising company occupational referrals, supporting employees back to work and advising and making recommendations in relation to capability and ill health terminations. 
  • Prepare and deliver HR related training courses
  • Carry out or contribute to change projects, e.g. company restructures, TUPE
