National Express are currently recruiting for a Process Improvement Manager to work closely with company business functions to manage and facilitate hands on process improvement activities and projects. 

The successful individual will build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation to ensure efficiency of critical business processes by creating and implementing changes and driving improvements. 

We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual to deal with constantly changing demands within a fast-paced environment. You will have experience in a similar role, utilising process improvement methodology, problem solving and handling multiple projects at one time. 

Role Requirements: 

  • Identify, plan and implement key process improvement projects to improve quality, reduce cost and increase productivity by reducing wasted time, replication, rework, etc. resulting in significant business improvement. 

  • Manage a portfolio of process improvement projects and ensure delivery and execution of these projects with desired quality, on time and within budget, while achieving a cost reduction goal.  

  • Continuously assess, understand and improve the operational and commercial requirements of the businesses and provide guidance and direction to ensure efficient use of processes and tools.

  • Conduct ongoing analysis to measure the impact of improvements and continually monitor/assess various processes following the implementation of a change to ensure the desired outcome is achieved.

  • Promote open and constructive dialogue and cooperation encouraging collaboration and actively drive change through people, processes and technology.

  • Provide advice and guidance to the Senior Management team on process improvement.

  • Coach and develop local management teams in business process  improvement techniques taking a hands-on role where applicable.

  • Support the creation of documents addressing changes to departmental procedures and policies as required, ensuring teams are familiar with relevant procedural changes.

  • Support Project Managers with any process improvement work required as part of our core business projects.

  • Coordinate communication around process improvement activities.


Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / equivalent qualification or educated to degree level in relevant subject.

  • Proven experience in process improvement, leading projects with a record of successful implementation.

  • Stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence and collaborate cross functionally.

  • Knowledge of diverse business processes in a wide range of industries.

  • Relevant experience in reducing process errors, improving process results and saving costs as well as having the ability to develop creative and innovative ways to improve business processes.

  • Ability to deal with overlapping priorities in a fast-moving environment.

  • Proven leadership skills and business acumen - performance driven.  

  • Broad strategic thinker, with clear vision and direction of world class change management.  

  • Excellent presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written.  

  • Works well in a team environment, with sound negotiation and problem solving skills.
