National Express are looking for a driven and proactive Duty Manager to play a crucial role in the running of our Bristol Coach Station. Reporting to the Coach Station Manager, the successful candidate will be motivating the team, providing coaching, development and inspiration. The role includes promoting and developing the safe and secure environment within the Coach Station and encouraging the team to always exceed their goals and customer expectations. 

Our Duty Managers use their leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the business to find solutions and help the business enhance service and products. We are looking for an experienced customer service professional who has experience managing and leading a team in a fast paced environment. Please note there may be a requirement to travel to other locations and will include Bank holiday and weekend working. Your personality is what really counts with us - your ambition, drive, and determination will make you stand out National Express. Training will be offered to the right candidate who may not have the exact experience, but are willing to learn, show enthusiasm, and has a great personality.

What you'll do...

  • Deputising for Coach Station Manager as required
  • Overseeing the day-to-day activities within the site ensuring efficient shift plans are designed in accordance with the business need and effective communication is maintained throughout the shift with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively providing support and assistance to customers, colleagues and drivers
  • Managing and supporting staff in line with National Express Policies and Procedures including supervision, absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievances
  • Promoting cohesive, empowered and engaged working environment
  • Identifying individual training and development needs and plan to meet these by effective use of iLearn and PDR’s
  • Contributing to the recruitment, induction and training of new CSA’s and Team Leaders through effective use of the NX recruitment and induction process
  • Fully adhering to the Financial Procedures and Cash Handling Policy and ensure the team are performing in accordance to the policy at all times
  • Using the relevant ticketing and operational systems, processes and procedures necessary to fulfill the role
  • Ensuring efficient and consistent communication process is in place and daily briefings, regular team meetings and bi-monthly one-to-ones are held
  • Actively promoting inclusion by ensuring that CSA’s and Team Leaders are supported to participate in Community and Engagement activities
  • Undertaking administrative tasks as required; i.e. staff records, Financial paperwork
  • Undertaking additional activities such as attendance at conferences and involvement in projects to further individual and organisational development

Things to note...
