Reporting directly to our Head of Marketing and with a dotted line to the Head of Resourcing in our HR Team, the Recruitment Marketing Manager will be responsible for the activation of National Express UK’s attraction and resourcing strategy across our Bus and Coach Divisions and to help us position our company as an employer of choice.

The role will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your brand, social engagement and digital marketing skills and your deep understanding of what it takes to create memorable and effective recruitment campaigns. You’ll be developing strategies which will both build our employer brand and help us to attract great candidates, whether they are drivers, engineers, customer service advisors or managers.

You will have a gift for storytelling and will know how to reach and engage with your audience on a human level through search, social, content and broadcast advertising. You will be able to think strategically about channels and messaging, roll up your sleeves to execute campaigns and programmes, and track, measure and report on activity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the activation of National Express’ attraction and resourcing strategy across our Bus and Coach Divisions, supporting the fulfilment of a variety of roles annually
  • Work with our resourcing team to ensure that our candidate role profiles best reflect our recruiting strategies and address the right audience groups.
  • Ensure that our job descriptions and associated advertisements capture the essence of our company culture and are written to promote the benefits of working for our business.
  • Position the company as an employer of choice by managing the creation of impactful and compelling employer brand content that resonates with prospective candidates and increases engagement and awareness for the brand.
  • Work with our agencies across creative, media and social to develop and implement attraction campaigns that meet the resourcing requirements of the business.
  • Share job advertisements on various online channels (job boards, social media groups, professional communities)
  • Maintain a communications calendar for recruitment campaigns.
  • Manage the development and distribution of recruitment collateral for campaigns, regional and national careers events and virtual events, supporting these as required.
  • In conjunction with our Internal Communications team, develop compelling content that illustrates our life at work (for example, blog posts, videos and infographics)
  • Manage the content strategy for our careers site and social media channels.
  • Work with our digital team to ensure that application journeys through our careers website are optimised to ensure conversion from enquiry to application.
  • Analyse data and key insights to develop and improve future content, campaigns and channel usage based on candidate engagement and trends.
  • Track and analyse resource spend – bringing proposals to budget holders & demonstrating ROI

Requirements and skills:

  • At least 5 years experience in a recruitment marketing role
  • A true passion for recruitment marketing with experience of managing recruitment advertising, programmatic advertising, PPC campaigns and employer branding activity.
  • Excellent and demonstrable copywriting skills and good storytelling abilities
  • Previous experience of planning and managing across a variety of online and offline channels
  • Extensive knowledge of social media channels and best practices, including market and competitive trends
  • Experience of managing agencies to develop distinctive and effective campaigns and collateral.
  • Ability to develop relationships to positively influence resourcing conversations.
  • Exemplary project management and prioritisation skills
  • An analytical mindset and the ability to get the data you need and present it in a way that convinces and reassures your stakeholders
  • Familiarity with event planning
  • Transport sector experience or working for a service based organisation would be an advantage though not essential.
