IT Infrastructure Team Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for a IT Engineering Team Lead based in the West Midlands. 

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the IT engineering team and occasional supervision of 3rd party contractors. You will be carrying out IT infrastructure/software installation, support and system administration activities, you will be liaising with our managed service data centre as well as offshore development teams.

What you will do...

• Developing and coaching a team of IT Engineers ensuring targets are met within established safety and quality procedures.
• Conduct tests of both hardware and software and correct malfunctions. Document details of all hardware and software items installed and removed 
• Develop installation procedures and standards, and schedule installation work.
• Manage configuration items and related information. Apply tools, techniques and processes for identification, classification and control of configuration items.
• Set the tactical operation of your team and contribute to the strategic direction of your service. Produce and deliver your team plan and monitor its delivery.
• Ensure services are delivered within budgets and opportunities for increasing resources are identified.
• Partake in on-call rota in line with the other engineers.

What you will have...

• A minimum five years experience in an infrastructure lead role
• Experience of working in a customer focused desktop or end-user support function.
• Experience of incident resolution, requests and problem-solving activities delivered to agreed SLAs
• Ideally leadership of a highly expert technical team, including recruitment, staff development and performance management
• Technical expertise and practical knowledge of supporting IT infrastructure in one or more of: Unix, Microsoft or virtualised environments; systems integration and security; networking or storage; IT operations and development environments
• Experience of managing or contributing to IT infrastructure upgrade projects
• Working experience with printer installation and trouble shooting.
