We have a exciting opportunity for  Communications Executives to join our team based in the West Midlands, who will be responsible for supporting the UK communications team and work closely with other teams, including  marketing and commercial, to deliver reactive and proactive external communications (PR, public affairs and stakeholder management) for National Express UK and its individual businesses (UK Bus, UK Coach and National Express Transport Solutions)

It’s an exciting time to be working in the UK transport sector as we build back from the pandemic. Good transport improves lives. COP26 has focused minds on the green agenda and National Express plays a huge part in that. So we are building a bigger communications team to better support the work of this global business in the UK.


What you may do...

  • Copywriting - press releases, media briefs, newsletters, award entries, staff briefings, company responses
  • Content creation - photography, videography, social media posts, blogs
  • Media relations to include proactive pitching, press office and influencer relations
  • Stakeholder relations including elected members
  • Research
  • Writing reports and briefings
  • Attendance/management of events - photoshoots, press calls, VIP visits etc
  • Work within the UK Communications incident and crisis management team as and when required, including on-the-ground resources during any crisis situations

 

Skills and Experience needed...

  • 2 years’ PR and communications experience - agency or in-house
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience of building and maintaining relationships with media sectors and securing coverage 
  • Experience in stakeholder management with skills in building and maintaining relationships
  • Sound knowledge of social media and digital platforms
  • Organisational skills
  • Time management 
  • Idea generation and creative thinking
