Lucketts Travel, part of National Express Transport Solutions (NETS), are currently recruiting for a Head of Operations, based across the South Region, who will lead and direct all elements of the Operations function, maximising resource efficiency, meeting set objectives and targets, maintaining the highest levels of compliance and ensuring cross functional relations across the business are managed effectively.

Role Purpose:

  • Continually improve overall performance for the operations function across the South Region.
  • Contribute to strategic business planning and budgeting activities
  • Implement effective cost control measures across operations and ensure that all financial targets are met
  • Ensure effective day to day leadership of the operations function working to produce and maintain the Group's Operations Policy (GOP).
  • Enforce safety regulations, company policies and GOP
  • Ensure that each regional company operation functions successfully meeting its objectives and goals
  • Continually improve the efficiency and performance of operations across the region
  • Proactively adapt to the changing environment in the passenger transport industry to best meet the Group's requirements for the future
  •  Evaluate and improve usage of current fleet and work methods, to deliver OEE targets.
  •  Monitor contract performance and take relevant steps to ensure contractual SLAs are met
  • Adhere to and maintain quality, compliance and safety systems including all relevant laws and regulations, VOSA and compliance audits
  • Ensure that legal and company reporting requirements as they relate to the role are met - exception reporting to the Managing Director
  •  Maintain a current detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant UK and EC regulations and laws

 What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent working knowledge of all daily site procedures, health and safety regulations, employment legislation, customer experience and people management practices
  • You will ideally hold CPC in International Passenger Transport
  • Thorough appreciation of the needs of external customers and internal customers, coupled with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans.
  • Understanding of the high volume passenger transport sector, including relevant legal and external regulations and requirements for the operation of passenger carrying vehicles.
  • Ability to devise, implement, manage and review effective processes to ensure consistency and best practices
  • Flexible approach to working hours – able to attend out-of-hours external meetings and respond quickly to any “on-call” requirements.
